Witch Hazel is an evergreen shrub native to North America. Its healing components are extracted from its dried leaves, bark, and partially dried dormant branches. It is best known as a natural astringent due to its excellent ability to tighten tissues and stop bleeding. It is often used to reduce swelling and inflammation, repair damaged and irritated skin (such as acne), relieve symptoms of varicose veins and hemorrhoids, and fight bacteria.
